The world’s biggest Greek salad was prepared on the 4rth of September at Red Square in Moscow.
The Greek salad of 20 tons and 100 kg officially entered the Guinness Book of Records.
The event was organized by Mouzenidis Group, with Aldemar Resorts – a well-known chain of Greek resorts on Crete, Rhodes and the West Peloponnese – as partner.
The idea to break the Guinness world record came during a joint culinary events of Aldemar Resorts and MouzenidisTravel – and at that time anyone could expect that the project will reach such proportions.
Participants tried so hard that the salad was cut even faster than expected, and Aldemar Resorts team scored in their ranks the highest number of participants – 183!
The Vice President of Aldemar Resorts, Alexandros Angelopoulos, attended personally the event in order to support the team and participate in breaking the record. Along with him he brought the chef of the chain -Petros Lamprinidis.
At a separate table, inspiring by personal example, stood the president of holding Mouzenidis Group Boris Mouzenidis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic in Russia Andreas Friganas, Commander in Chief Air Hellenic Republic Christ Vaitsis, the Vice President of Aldemar Resorts, Alexandros Angelopoulos, Olympic champion Sofya Velikaya and other officials.
The salad was weighted by a representative of the Guinness Book, and then officially registered as a new world record GUINNESS WORLD RECORD «BIGGEST GREEK SALAD 20 tons 100 kilograms.”
